Capital: Tanjung Pinang Physical Features: This province is composed of more than 3,000 islands of all sizes, situated off the cost of Sumatra near the province of Riau. It stretches from Islands close to Singapore (Batam and Bintang) and Mayaysia to an island group which is closer to Kalimantan than Singapore. Population: about 1 million Area: ? sq. kms Mountains: Lakes: Flora: Cempaka (Emmerlia ovalis), ironwood (Instia biyoga), nantu (Palagium Sp), resin, rattan and enau (Arenga pinnata). Fauna: monkey, kukus, deer, owls, kumkum and wild hen. Exports: TV, White goods, computers, electronic, cameras, Becauuse of its special Duty Free status for industries from Singapore this area has many industrial products including electronic, etc. These are all exported back to Singapore. Commercial Crops: Coconut, clove, cacao, coffee and rubber. Fish Products: Tuna, skipjack tuna, barramundi, shrimp, anchovy, giant gouramy, common carp, and tilapia Forest Products: timber , wood chips.
